Research Interests:

My research interests are related, in general, to biological knowledge discovery using bioinformatics, and specifically cancer. We are currently starting a very ambitious project to developing cancer biomarkers from the thousands of large-scale functional genomics microarray data already published. This project involve a great variety of optimization techniques such as evolutionary algorithms, statistical approaches such as multivariate classifiers and artificial intelligence techniques. It also involves web technologies, data mining, databases, high-scale computing.
