Research areas:

  1. information discovery in various domains including bibliographic, clinical and biological databases
  2. keyword search in relational and semi-structured databases
  3. performance and semantics of ranked queries
  4. web search
  5. XML storage and parsing

My main area of research is at the intersection of Databases and Information Retrieval (IR). That is, applying Database and IR techniques to search structured and semi-structured documents. I am particularly interested on domains-specific techniques like bibliographic databases, clinical data, biological data, social networks.
